Miranda Yiu was born in Hong Kong and graduated from Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles, USA, majoring in illustration. After her return to Hong Kong, she engaged in illustration and design work for nearly 20 years. She was used to work with different media, including acrylic, watercolor and paper sculpture. During this period, she actively participated in the promotion of illustrations in Hong Kong, and was the former Chairman of the Hong Kong Society of Illustrators. In recent years, she has been focusing on paintings with Chinese ink, notably the passion to explore the depiction and expression of the human body. She tries to capture the charm of the human body through calligraphic strokes and varied tonalities of ink, which give rise to a good result of artistic expressiveness, sometimes bold and vigorous, and occasionally flowing and twisting unconstrainedly … so as to create her unique artistic language.
