The Soul Expressions series is a body of work by Ricky Francisco which explores the idea of light as a symbol of the soul. Reflection, refraction, diffusion, color, sheen, and other properties of light as it bounces off surfaces to create what we see, are explored in this series of works as a means of conveying the attributes of the soul, intentionality, focus, and transcendence.
Ricky Francisco is an independent curator and museum worker with over 20 years of experience. As a visual artist, he is new to the scene, joining group shows only last 2021. His focus is on light as a visual symbol of the soul, and he explores how light is transmitted, reflected, refracted and diffused through his art as a way of expressing the various aspects of the soul.
