Museum Grade reprint on Hahnemühle German Etching 310gsm mould-made paper. Limited reprint. Chan Lok-Choi first learned how to make birdcages at age 12, and went on to open his own shop in the '70s when the popularity of bird-keeping in Hong Kong was at its peak. But then consumer habits shifted and the custom of taking pet birds for a stroll began to fade. Now in his late 70s, Chan is the only one left standing, carrying on an endangered craft as he repairs bamboo cages in the city's renowned Bird Garden.

Alvin c.k. Lam
Hong Kong, Hong Kong
Alvin C.K. Lam is a Hong Kong–based self-taught watercolor artist who recalls picking up a paintbrush long before chopsticks. What began in 2020 as an experiment in urban sketching soon became a journey of rediscovering his hometown and uncovering the untold stories hidden within its streets. Known for his richly detailed and evocative style, Alvin captures Hong Kong’s vibrant yet fading cultural heritage through scenes of traditional family businesses, craftsmen, and everyday life. His ongoing series, Unspoken Stories, Unsung Heroes, celebrates these ordinary figures—the quiet backbone of modern Hong Kong—reflecting the enduring Lion Rock Spirit while evoking nostalgia amid the tension between tradition and progress.
