Reprint Edition of "Glasses": 80cm x 40cm Canvas

2022

First painting installation in space by a HK and Canadian Artist. This piece demonstrates the eyeglass – observing life from various perspectives. The dollar sign and book inside the lenses represent practicality and materialism based on social norms and expectations. However the symbols on the exterior represent joy and idealism that can be expressed from love, mother nature, passion, music and appreciation of the arts. When she was younger, she would often find herself lost in her own world, lost in her glasses. She was never quite sure why, but they always seemed to bring her peace. She would spend hours sitting in her room, looking through the lenses and exploring the different worlds they showed her. Eventually, she learned that the glasses were a way for her to connect with her innermost self.
