Guanyin & Shancai
(Ref#: DSC06951)
2023
Guanyin captured in the “skyfull of buddhas and gods” installation on Hong Kong Island, enveloped by the regeneration symbol of lush foliage. Considered the personification of compassion and kindness, a mother goddess and patron of mothers, here she is depicted looking or glancing down, symbolising that Guanyin continues to watch over the world.
A beautiful rendering with a sublime expression, rosy cheeks and accompanying infant further stressing the relationship between maternity and birth.
