Flamboyance of Flamingos

76x91 cm, Acrylic on stretched canvas The view of the tidelands from my house in Mumbai was the inspiration for this painting. From October to March, when the tide was low, I could see tens of thousands of flamingos with their coral pink plumage sifting through the mud for the blue green algae which is responsible for their exuberant colouring.
