Reprint of "Balancing" (25 x 25 cm (ILFORD-Textured) - 1/30)

2014
This Mandala took 160 hours to finish. Theresa Ting saw a lot of possibilities from the lines while creating the draft. The process is similar to life in that intervention and control (masculine energy), balanced with acceptance and intuition (feminine energy), bring along unlimited possibilities and inspirations to happen in an effortless and joyous status. The red and blue balancing in the painting symbolized the masculine and feminine energy of the base and throat charka, which means grounding and communication, respectively. Yellow represents joy, integrated into the structure and color palette, with six circles from the center of the painting - our heart- and shared with others in a dynamic green background. The irregular green patterns on the ground represent our world full of changes and unknowns. The intertwined layers of this Mandala demonstrated that life is a process with a flow of energy and ups and downs. Balancing masculine and feminine energy could allow us to experience what is more important to our life. When we finish the process, joy and beauty are gifts to share with others.
