Child Like
(Ref#: 5.3)
2023
This painting represents the purity of a children’s heart and the short reach with the divine. The picture showson a representation of my baby looking towards the above, decorating his feet with crowd of cherubs inspired in Berninis work while on top two angels carry a crown of purity descending to celebrate him.
This series with an altar cathedral like design bathed in golden colors and grey sculpture paintings, use the technique of a trompe des’eau style pretending to contain a painting inside of an sculpture mold, with topics about divine moments of early childhood and childhood inspired in my son.
Repeated angel figures appear in characters or in the sculpture designs adding deeper meaning to the topic represented.
The work intention is for the audience to discover and have a dialogue with the painting and it’s ornaments.
