燒賣

2021
A traditional dish that can be served at Chinese Restaurant as dim sum or in the street as street snacks. This painting shows these dumplings as street snacks in a very old way. A long time ago, these snacks were served on orange plastic plates with lots of soya sauce in it. These street dumplings were stuffed with pastries only. However, they are still rather popular in Hong Kong. Those dumplings which are served as dim sum at Chinese Restaurants are stuffed with meat and prawns. Hence, they are expensive dim sum, totally different from the street dumplings.
